The Kimball School
The Kimball School stood at the corner of Chestnut and School Streets, where the current Police and Fire Services headquarters now stands. The school was built in 1871 and housed Grades 1 through 9. For a time, its third floor also accommodated the High School and the Public Library. The school was named for the Rev. Daniel Kimball, schoolmaster and Deacon of the First Parish Church.
